Topple?

Many towns and cities have statues glorifying the exploits and / or generosity of  their famous sons. But there is a growing disquiet in many communities about the nature of their exploits and sources of  their wealth. This has led to some statues of 'famous sons' being 'toppled'

Here in Plymouth the prominent statue on Plymouth Hoe of Sir Francis Drake  (1540 - 1598), an Elizabethan hero, expert navigator, pirate and slave trader,  is felt by some citizens to be inappropriate and that it should be removed because of his involvement in the Slave trade.
