We call her Pru.

Or Prunella Modularis, to give her full name.

More commonly known as a Hedge Accentor. this "tame garden and woodland bird spends most of its time crouched low searching for food on the ground", according to my Pocket Guide to Birds of Britain and Ireland. "It is common and widespread ... and their population is estimated to be around 5,000,000 pairs."

It is only perched on the fence because I entered the area it was foraging in.
