The virus is sweeping the country. The infection rate is rising so steeply that there are fears that the National Health Service could be overwhelmed. The UK death rate has passed 75,000 and is showing no sign of slowing down anytime soon.
Plymouth has two universities and the new term started this week, but very few students are back in residence. The vast majority are required to stay at home to study and interact with their tutor on line.
The tall building in the centre of the picture is a 22 floor, student accommodation block, that normally houses about 500 students. I suspect that it has a very small number of residents at the moment.
