Flotsam and Jetsam

 


Clearing up the debris on the beach at Saltash, on the Cornish shore of the River Tamar, resulting from some recent exceptionally high tides and very strong winds.

In Maritime Law Flotsam refers to goods that are floating on the surface of the water as the result of a wreck or accident, While Jetsam applies to  any cargo that is intentionally discarded from a ship or wreckage
