Looking down across the meadows to the River Lynher

The River Lynher flows into the River Tamar just below the two bridges at Saltash.
We are looking across the meadows of
in Saltash, just across the River Tamar from Plymouth, on the Cornish bank.
This beautiful and peaceful former farm is a haven for wildfire and people alike.
Every community should have one.

The Road Not Taken.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.

From the poem by Robert Frost 1920

Crossroads.

It was shortly after dawn on the Churchtown Farm Community Nature Reserve, at Saltash,
as I walked across this meadow on my way down to the misty River Lynher,
near where it flows into the River Tamar.

The River Lynher

The River Lynher flows into the River Tamar at Saltash, just across from Plymouth,
and from the high points of the Churchtown Farm Community Nature Reserve
you can see up the river towards the village of St Germans, and paths that lead down to the shoreline.

Across the river lies Jupiter Point, where the new recruits to the Royal Navy, at HMS Raleigh,
do their initial practical sea training in a range of small craft
and get their first taste of a "real" ship onboard HMS Brecon, permanently moored here.

Kite flying in Kernow.

Making the most of a light breeze on a hill in the wonderful Churchtown Farm Community Nature Reserve, on the bank of the River Lynher, which flows into the River Tamar, just across from Plymouth.

This is a magical place for families, at any season of the year.

If the path be beautiful,

let us not ask where it leads.
