Truro. The county town of Cornwall

The beautiful little city of Truro is about an hour and a half by train from Plymouth.
It is a fascinating town with narrow streets and a wide range of very interesting shops.
It is a wonderful place to wander around, because you never far from an excellent Coffee Shop.

Truro Cathedral

Truro, with a population of 18,700, is the only city in Cornwall.
It is the fourth smallest city in England, and the most southerly city in the British Isles..

It is beautiful and compact and at its heart is the magnificent Cathedral.

Contemporary art is always integrated in the life of the Cathedral

The Cross
These two crosses are part of a series of works by Michael O'Connell,
who lives and works in West Cornwall

Art in The City of Truro.

A few days ago I was lucky enough to visit the small and beautiful city of Truro, (50 miles from Plymouth), the county town of Cornwall, or the capital of the ancient Celtic Country of Kernow, if you prefer.

The streets were busy and animated with many  interesting projects going on over the Easter period.

I was most impressed with the "Art in the city" activities.
