Here is one members of a tremendously popular and well respected local cycling team, 

The City Centre, Rapid Response, Bicycle Paramedic Team.

Patrolling Plymouth Hoe, the Waterfront and the City Centre Area, they are able to get quickly to any emergency because they are not constrained by one-way traffic systems or pedestrianised areas and they can use every narrow alley and lane which a motor vehicle could not.

Although it is a low-tech means of transport it carries a very high-tech kit of medical equipment, including a defibrillator, one litre of oxygen and entonox (commonly known as gas and air), a pulse monitor, a blood pressure monitor, adult and child bag and mask resuscitators, adrenaline, aspirin, asthma and diabetes drugs, bandages and dressings, rubber gloves and cleanser.
