Following the scent

No matter how cold and damp the day

Ice cream will always lift the spirits.

At last, the prospect of a day without rain

Up aloft

These two crew members are up aloft carrying out routine maintenance 

on his beautiful Tall Ship, The Eye Of The Wind, a very welcome visitor to Sutton Harbour,

 in the historic Barbican Quarter of the City's Waterfront.

Alfresco Dining

In a very brief period between the heavy showers

You would think they had never seen skinny dipping before

I'm sure there must be somewhere more comfortable to sit.

One of life's great pleasures on a sweltering day.

Keeping to the straight and narrow.

This lady is walking along an old cobbled quayside in the Barbican Quarter,

where the all the old warehouses have been replaced with expensive water front apartments, 

and all the boats in the harbour are expensive pleasure craft; not a grubby working boat in sight.

The only remnants of the quayside's original bustling life are the cobbles 

and the long disused rail tracks.

The Summer Season starts today.

When the Tinside Lido, on the city waterfront, opens for the summer.

Sea Fever

I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and then sky,

And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;

And the wheel's kick, an d the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,

And a grey mist on the sea's face,and a grey dawn breaking.

Breakfast with a view

The weather is set fair  for the next few days.

Spring and Autumn are the best seasons for the locals, 

we have the place to ourselves before the crowds arrive in July and August.

A quiet morning for strolling along the quayside.

Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees,

and there are times when you can hardly see the Water Front apartment blocks for the masts.

It is no good crying over spilt milk.

As the seasons change,  different worlds fill the frame.

on the shore of Plymouth Sound.
