The pool has been battered by a succession winter Atlantic storms 
which have roared up the Channel and pounded the coasts of  Cornwall and Devon.
Hence the debris in the pool.

Spring Cleaning complete


The Tinside Lido is cleaned up and ready for business.
It is scheduled to open shortly, but the beautiful weather of the Easter Holiday
has been replaced by a return to Winter rain, wind and cold.

This little ice cream kiosk is located on the Waterfront above the Tinside Lido,
and every morning and evening the operator goes through  the Ceremony of the Keys.

Spring Cleaning at The Tinside Lido


A sure sign that Spring is in the air and Summer can't be too far away
and The Lido, on the shore of Plymouth Sound, will be no longer deserted.

Beach Huts on the Foreshore of Plymouth Hoe


 



Early morning on a sunny August day and the 'residents' are arriving for another day of sun bathing, sea bathing and convivial company.



In 1988 these huts had become so dilapidated that the City Council, who owned them, decided they should be demolished, but a local couple, with fond childhood memories of summers spent here, acquired them and set about restoring them to their former glory.
