may not be shared by his wife.

The first real hot Summer day of this year

Summers, in this part of the world, tend to come in bursts of two or three days of sunshine 

followed by several days of showers with little sight of the sun.

So people try to make the most of any period of decent weather.

Yesterday was more like June than the end of October.

The argument rages, just as it does every year.

Is sunbathing harmful or beneficial?

 

Just chillin'.

Busy doing nothing,

Working the whole day through

Trying to find lots of things not to do

Busy going nowhere

Isn't it just a crime

Springtime sunshine.

 

After the record breaking wet winter, seven dry days in a row has been a great boost to people's spirits.

The sun warmed the rocks, and this unprepossessing spot was remarkably comfortable

The last chance?

This couple were grabbing what could probably be the last chance this year,

 to stretch out on the sand and sunbathe.

"Flaming June"

A quiet corner of Tinside Lido, on the shore of Plymouth Sound.

This was probably the very last chance to sunbathe.

Until a few days ago there was still considerable warmth in the late October sunshine.

But since then we have been battered by high winds and torrential showers 

as the remains of ex Hurricane Gonzalo swept across the city.

Another lovely day

We have had a wonderful spell of hot weather over the last fortnight.

But, being British, we know that we will pay for this later.
