The Belvedere on Plymouth Hoe.

The definition of a belvedere is
-a building or architectural feature designed and situated to look out on to a pleasing scene.
It comes from the Italian,  bel  - 'beautiful'  +  vedere - 'to see'
The Belvedere on Plymouth Hoe was built in 1891 and affords a fine view over Plymouth Sound.

The view changes constantly with the weather and the vessels that are moving through The Sound.

Here are a couple of images, that I have posted before, showing The Sound at its most placid, but The Belvedere also provides a fantastic viewpoint for dramatic winter storms.
