The Artist on day Five of the Lockdown

Many people are using the lockdown to catch up on all those DIY jobs, 

around the house, that they have been putting off. 

But some have a very different scale of ambition. 

Poetry surrounds us everywhere,

but putting it on paper is, alas, not so easy as looking at it.

The Phantom Circle Painter Strikes Again.

In a world of sharp angles, the human spirit cries out for circles.

Waiting out the storm in Sutton Harbour.

The Met Office issued Yellow alerts for very high winds and very heavy rain for Plymouth yesterday.
 That came true and this scene by Yannick Tonnelier, of  fishing boats sheltering in Sutton Harbour,
was repeated.

Dilapidated = (of a building) in a state of disrepair or ruin as a result of age or neglect.

 

St Andrew The Fisherman.

This statue of St Andrew, after whom the Minster Church is named, 

straddles the two pillars at the entrance to the church from Royal Parade, 

right at the heart of the City Centre..

This beautiful piece was created by the sculptor,  Rodney Munday, 

and was dedicated in July 2017.

I think it is a "secret" work by Christo and Jeanne - Claude.

 

Christo Vladimirov Javacheff and Jeanne-Claude were a married couple who created environmental works of art.

Their works include the wrapping of the  Reichstag  in Berlin and the  Pont Neuf bridge in Paris, the 24-mile (39 km)-long artwork called  Running Fence in  California, and The Gates in New York's Central Park

 This "Wrapping" is immediately next door to the carefully restored 16th /17th century Merchant's House, between the City Centre and the historic Barbican quarter.
