Over the last twenty years Devonport Park had acquired a reputation for danger; a place of delinquency, drunkenness and drug-taking. But after an injection of lottery money, together with match funding from local sources, but above all, the whole hearted support of local people and a growing band of committed volunteers, the "Peoples' Park" has been reborn.
