Making ready to sail with the evening tide.

Moored in the Cattewater, the area where the River Plym enters Plymouth Sound,
the crew of this vessel makes ready to sail, under the protection of the cannons,
which for generations have protected the city from seaborne attack.

Although there are many anachronistic elements in this picture,
in essence it could easily have been sketched in 1813.
