A new addition to the skyline.

This 95 metre chimney sits on top of the new Energy From Waste plant, 

which should should begin operation in the next few weeks.

This EfW facility has been built on a vacant "Brown Field" site in the North Yard of the 

Devonport Royal Naval Dockyard.

The plant is scheduled to process 245, 000 tons of household and business waste, which would otherwise go into landfill. and produce 190,000 MWh of electricity.
