High Rise

This 22 floor student accommodation block is emerging from its shroud of scaffolding, as it nears completion, ready to open for the start of the new academic year in September.

However, it has been announced that the cladding on the building is of the same quality as that on the building in London, where at least 80 people died in the massive fire earlier this summer.

The developers state that as soon as the building is complete and opened for its first residents, the cladding will be stripped off and replaced with a higher grade fire resistant version.

I wonder how many of the other student accommodation blocks in the city will have to replace their cladding.
