The weather over the whole of the Christmas Holiday period has been dreadful;

non stop wind and rain.

That is why the wide promenade on Plymouth Hoe is deserted,

when it would normally be crowded with children learning to ride the bikes, skates and scooters

they had received as Christmas presents.
