Storm "Ciara" is still battering the coast

But, so far, we have had a pretty easy time compared with many areas in the north.
Here is an impression of the last two days and the forecast for the next two.

At last! A perfect Winter weekend.

The storm blew itself out on Friday.
The skies cleared.
The sun shone all weekend.
Not a breath of wind ruffled water.
People enjoyed the beautiful crisp air.

In the deep mid Winter

Yesterday was crystal clear, without a breath of wind and out of the shadows as warm as Spring.
However today is forecast to see a return to normal; wind and rain.

Apartments overlooking the marina in Sutton Harbour.

Almost all the commercial quays, warehouses and workshops etc.that once lined the city waterfront have been redeveloped into apartments blocks, with restaurants and bars etc at street level.

- The Miller and Carter Steakhouse  -
in the old China House, on Sutton Wharf,
from which you can see both faces of Sutton Harbour.

Strolling in a modern 'Cloister'

Cloister  - A covered walk in a convent, monastery, college, or cathedral, typically with a colonnade open to a quadrangle on one side.

But in this case the 'nuns' are walking by the entrance to a modern office block
on the quayside of the Sutton Harbour. Marina

Sittin' on the dock of the bay

Sittin' in the morning sun
I'll be sittin' when the evening comes
Watchin' the ships roll in
Then I watch'em roll away again.
