Where the Lynher meets the Tamar

Looking from the Tamar Road Bridge you can see, in detail, the design of Brunel's railway bridge, built in 1859. This bridge is vitally important to the economy of Cornwall because it is the only rail link to the rest of the country. On the right hand side you can see the River Lynher flowing into the Tamar.
This beautiful tidal estuary leads up to the village of St Germans.

From the mouth of the Lynher you can look across to the naval dockyard on the Plymouth side of the Tamar.
