It looks like it is going to be .............

..... a long hard winter for the restaurants, bars, galleries boutiques and gift shops, 

on the cobbled streets of the ancient Barbican  quarter on the City's waterfront.

Because even by mid-morning yesterday, the streets were still almost deserted, and it wasn't even raining.
