The Cribbar
Yesterday I posted two of Wayne Henry’s shots of surfers in Plymouth enjoying a laid back sunset session.
Forty eight hours later Wayne was on the North Coast of Cornwall, at Fistral Beach , Newquay, (45 miles from Plymouth) filming an adrenalin-fuelled session as a major autumnal swell rose up over the Cribbar Reef.
The surfer being "towed in" is former English Champion, Ben Skinner.

The Solitary Sunset Surfer
Last weekend the combination of wind, tide and Atlantic Ocean swells, produced some great surfing conditions around the coasts of Devon and Cornwall .
These shots were taken at Bovisand Bay , on the Devon shore of Plymouth Sound, just outside the Breakwater, by Wayne Henry, a well known local surfer and photographer.
The solitary surfer was not quite as “alone” as he had hoped on this beautiful evening.

Surf Rescue
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is the charity that saves lives at sea. They provide a 24 hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the coasts of the UK, as well as a seasonal lifeguard service on the busiest beaches in England and Wales. The RNLI has lifeguards on more than 160 beaches around the UK, and last year they saved 107 lives and assisted 18,779 people.
The qualifying examinations and practical tests are very demanding and last weekend the current crop of candidates were put through their paces at Newquay, in North Cornwall.
Here we see sucessful candidate Jess Henry, sprint out to the aid of someone in difficulty, and skillfully using the power of the surf, bring him safely back to shore.
