Research into the role of Methane in the global warming scenario, suggests that most methane comes from agricultural emissions. Should this product gain popularity scientists are concerned that human emissions of methane, added to the already high levels resulting from agricultural sources, could further increase global warming.

The UK National Health Service has a battle on its hands
Number 1 of their 8 tips for Healthy Eating says,
"The key to a healthy diet is to eat the right amount of calories for how active you are
so you balance the energy you consume with the energy you use."

The "Sugar War" ramps up as each day passes.
Although on the retreat on many fronts,
these warriors were out and proud at this weekend's "Flavour Fest" in the city.

Cornish Pasties
Cornwall's gift to the world of fine dining.
It was said that The Devil would never dare to cross the River Tamar into Cornwall for fear of ending up as a filling in a Cornish Pasty.
Judging from this list of fillings his decision was probably correct.

Some things don't change. Thank goodness.
This is the shop window of my favourite baker and confectioner,
in Newquay on the Atlantic coast of Cornwall.
I took the top photo a week ago,
I posted the bottom shot here in September 2012.
The only real change over those years has been a small increase in the prices.
Some things stand the test of time.

The Alchemist
Last weekend sales stalls and live cooking demonstrations took over the Piazza in the City Centre
when the annual Flavour Fest took place.
I was particularly attracted to this wonderful stall.

Did they mean LUNCH
or is a new dining experience?

Virtually every aspect of the Cornish Pasty is a source of argument.
Where did the pasty originate?
What are the authentic ingredients?
What is the correct way to "crimp" a pasty?
Can you call a pasty made outside Cornwall a Cornish Pasty?
And so on and on.
This shop is in Plymouth, which is in county of Devon.

Hard work.
As supermarket customers we sometimes forget,
that one of the ingredients that helps our food to grow is the sweat of the workers in the fields.

Symbiosis?
"Celebrity Chefs" endlessly praise the virtues of "locally sourced" ingredients.
I wonder how symbiotic the relationship between these two businesses is?
